Abel
Origin: Hebrew.
Meaning: Breath, Vapour
Our World is plagued with comparison. Just like the downfall of Cain and Abel in the Bible, comparison is a disease that threatens the lives and destinies of the next generation.
The effects of comparison in young people are shocking - with poor mental health, soaring suicide and crime rates, more than 70% of their waking hours spent on a digital device and almost 50% of the population feeling emotionally lonely.
The Solution:
THE BREATH OF GOD
Literally translated as breath or vapour, Abel recognises the breath of God on every individual and that each is created with a unique, God given identity and purpose.
How do we solve the crisis of comparison? See the breath of God on the next generation and support them to unlock their own God given potential. They are truly the breath of God in our society and all they need is to be given a chance and they will solve our world’s biggest problems.
So what is Abel Movement? It’s an organic movement of the next generation, getting a hold of their God given purpose and mission.
It’s the gathering of the Christian community around young people to champion them.
It’s young people doing something and initiating action in line with their purpose and call.
How can we champion the next generation to solve their own problems?
